Is It a DIY Fix or a Pro Job?
Your garage door just stopped working right. Now what?
First, take a breath. Some problems are small. A dirty sensor, a dead remote battery or a bit of debris in the way can look like a big failure. You can check those safely.
Other problems are not small. A door that hangs crooked, a loud bang followed by a stuck door, or cables that look loose all need a pro. These parts hold a lot of tension. They can hurt you fast.
So how do you tell the difference? That is what this site is for. We help you look, learn and decide. Then, if you need a pro, we connect you with an independent provider in our network.
Orderet Garage Doors does not do the repair work. The provider does. Providers set their own prices and schedules, and you can request an estimate with no obligation.

How It Works
What does Orderet Garage Doors actually do?
Orderet Garage Doors is a referral service. You tell us what is going on with your garage door. We match your request with an independent local provider in our network. The provider then talks with you about the job and the price.
The providers do the work, not us. They set their own prices. We simply make the first step easier.
What can I safely do myself?
You can do a lot of looking. Try these:
- Watch the door move and listen for scraping or grinding.
- Check that nothing blocks the sensors near the floor.
- Swap the battery in your remote.
- Wipe dust off the sensor lenses.
- Look at the tracks for dents or debris.
That is a good start. It also gives a provider useful clues.
What should I leave alone?
Springs, cables and the brackets that hold them are under heavy tension. Do not loosen, cut or adjust them. The same goes for bent tracks and a door that has dropped on one side. Pro tools and training matter here.
What should I have ready?
Take clear photos of the problem. Write down when it started and what you heard. Note the size of the door and the age of the opener if you know it. Keep any old receipts. Good notes make estimates faster and clearer, and they help if you ever talk with your insurer.
Serving Beverly and Beyond
Are you close enough to get help? If you live in Beverly or anywhere in the Beverly area, most likely yes.
The weather here is tough on garage doors. Cold, snowy winters stiffen parts. Freeze-thaw cycles and spring snowmelt can shift floors and tracks. Coastal storms bring wind and damp air. Older homes may have doors that have been working hard for decades.
Many homes here are older, including Cape Cod styles and multi-family buildings. Some have stone or block foundations and full basements. Garage openings in these homes can be odd sizes, so a measured quote matters.
Providers in our network know these local conditions. Availability varies, so ask each provider what they can offer.
Request a callback to check provider availability in your part of the area.

Garage Door Questions Homeowners Often Ask
Why does my door act up in winter?
Cold makes metal parts tighter and grease thicker. Rubber seals can stick to the floor in a freeze. A door that worked fine in October may groan in January. Clear ice from the bottom edge, and do not force the door.
Is a noisy door a problem?
Sometimes it is just dry rollers. Sometimes it is a worn part. If the noise is new, loud or comes with shaking, stop using the door and ask a provider to look.
What does track alignment mean?
The door rides in metal tracks on each side. If a track is bent or loose, the door can jam or tilt. Track alignment is a job for a pro. Forcing the door can make the damage worse.
When is a spring the culprit?
A loud bang from the garage, a door that will not lift, or a gap in the spring all point to garage door spring repair. Stay clear of it. Spring work can cause serious injury.
Do I need a new opener or a new door?
If the door moves smoothly by hand but the motor fails, a new garage door opener may be the answer. If panels are cracked, rotted or dented, a new door may make more sense. A provider can help you compare.
Is there such a thing as an emergency?
Yes. If your door is stuck open, your car is trapped or the door looks about to fall, that is urgent. Ask about emergency garage service when you call. Availability depends on the provider.
How do I get ready for a quote?
Take photos from a few angles. Jot down model numbers. Write what you heard and saw. Measure the opening if you can. Organized notes lead to clearer estimates.
What about insurance?
Some policies may cover sudden damage, such as a storm or a vehicle bump. Check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.
